What is Stratospheric Aerosol Injection and how can it slow down global warming?

You must be living under a rock if you haven't ever heard of global warming. The rapid rate at which the earth's surface is heating up and the soaring temperatures experienced across the globe is a proof that global warming is a big threat to our world. But sadly, not much has been done to curb the devastating effects of global warming.

While countries are still struggling to control their greenhouse emission, scientists are considering a technique that could slow down the rate of global warming. Stratospheric Aerosol Injection involves pumping tons of sulfate particles into the stratosphere. These sulfate particles will in turn reflect some of the heat rays from the sun into the outer space and thus reducing the heating of earth's surface. But this method has its pitfalls as well.
